Engineer Expert Witness Services
Steve Roensch has three decades of engineer expert witness experience. He has testified in court and arbitration hearings, given deposition testimony and supplied legal team technical support. He has served as an expert witness on injury, death, loss and patent cases involving engineering product design and manufacturing defects. Steve has performed both defendant and plaintiff investigations, and has served as a product liability expert witness and as a personal injury expert witness.
Steve investigates product failures and accidents from a fundamental engineering perspective. He specializes in determining if the product design meets applicable standards and is sufficient to survive. He documents his efforts thoroughly from the start, for concise presentation to the legal team, other experts and the jury. Complex engineering principles are explained using everyday concepts that everyone can understand. Color stress plots and animations are used whenever possible to convey complicated engineering results in an easy to understand visual format.
For example, Steve has served as an expert witness on ROV (Recreational Off-highway Vehicle) cases. Other terms used for an ROV are UTV (Utility Task Vehicle), SSV or SxS (Side-by-Side Vehicle), or even ATV (All Terrain Vehicle). These vehicles require special consideration of design, stability and modes of injury.
In addition to his very strong theoretical background, Steve is a hands-on engineer, and has performed maintenance and repairs on his own SUVs, boats and aircraft.
